Welcome to the non-legally binding introduction to our Terms of Service. The legal document lives below this, but here’s the gist of what you need to know:
You need to either fully own the music or have permission from all rightsholders to upload it to Catalog—even if you’re offering it for free. That means no uncleared remixes, edits, covers, samples, bootlegs, mashups, or altered versions like bass boosted, slowed down, or sped up tracks. We’re a team of producers and cratediggers who love musical references across genres and eras—but we still have to follow copyright law, and we expect you to do the same. Any content that violates our policy may be removed.
No. You keep ownership of the music you upload. By accepting our terms, you're only giving us the rights we need to run Catalog and promote your music—for example, streaming it, featuring it on our editorial site Liner Notes, or highlighting it on social media. Check the Terms below for full legal details.
We only use personal information as outlined in our Privacy Policy. Artists you support or follow may access your information in specific cases. See our Privacy Policy for more information.
Now onto the legally binding portion ~
Thank you for your interest in Catalog Records Inc. (“Catalog,” “we,” or “us”) and our website at www.catalog.works, and other services provided by us (collectively, the “Service”). These Terms of Service are a legally binding contract between you and Catalog regarding your use of the Service.
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING TERMS CAREFULLY
BY CLICKING “I ACCEPT” OR BY OTHERWISE INDICATING YOUR ACCEPTANCE, OR BY ACCESSING OR USING THE SERVICE, YOU AGREE THAT YOU HAVE READ AND UNDERSTOOD, AND, AS A CONDITION TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY, THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS, INCLUDING CATALOG’S PRIVACY POLICY [https://catalog.works/privacy] (TOGETHER, THESE “TERMS”). IF YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE, OR DO NOT AGREE TO THE TERMS, THEN YOU DO NOT HAVE OUR PERMISSION TO USE THE SERVICE. YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, AND CATALOG’S PROVISION OF THE SERVICE TO YOU, CONSTITUTES AN AGREEMENT BY CATALOG AND BY YOU TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS
